Compete against other lodges and chapters from across Section SR-7A to raise the most money for your council and take home bragging rights for the year. All money raised by the lodges will directly support the lodges of Section 7A. Share the word far and wide and get ready to raise money for your local Scouting efforts on October 24-25th!
1. What is the Day of Giving:
The COVID-19 pandemic has left most summer camps and councils suffering with significant financial losses. The Day of Giving is a section-wide competition between the lodges of SR-7A to raise money for their local councils. Each lodge will promote, share, and encourage donations to go towards their local council to aid them during this COVID-19 Pandemic. All money donated will go to the corresponding council for each lodge.
2. When will this event be held:
Saturday, October 24th
3. Where will it be held:
This is an all-virtual event that will be promoted throughout the day by the lodges and section to encourage donations.
4. How it will be executed:
Using the site MightyCause, we will have a quick, and easy-to-use link for any Arrowman to donate. The link will direct you to a page showing the lodge flap for each lodge in our section. Just click on your lodge’s flap, and follow the steps to donate any amount of money in your name to support your council and lodge.
5. Am I expected to donate a certain amount:
Not at all, any donation helps! Small donations still go towards your lodge’s total amount raised, so be sure to offer your support, no matter how small!
6. Can I donate non-virtually:
Yes! In fact, larger donations are encouraged to be delivered in person to each council office before the Day of Giving, and will go towards the final tallied amount for your Lodge!
7. What can I do before the event:
Spread the word! Each lodge encourages their own chapters to participate and make it a competition within the lodges to see which chapter can raise the most money. All of the money is going towards the support of our councils, so be sure to show your support, and spread the word!
8. What is an hourly giveaway:
Different hourly giveaways that will be happening from 9AM – 11PM. The giveaways include limited patches, special items, and donations from SR-7A to your lodge or chapter’s fundraiser. Stay tuned for a breakdown of the day’s hourly giveaway schedule!
8. What is a Power Hour:
Power Hours refers to the two team competition based hourly give aways that will be happening at some point from 9AM – 11PM. In one competition lodges compete for the most number of donors within an hour. In another, chapters compete within their lodge for amount of donors. Winners receive money from SR-7A towards their team’s fundraiser. Stay tuned for a breakdown of the day’s power hours schedule!
