SR-7A Prepares 6,000 Care Packages for Wounded Troops
For the 2014 Conclave Service Project, Southern Region Section Seven A partnered with the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center located in Bethesda, MD and on Saturday of Conclave, a total of 6,000 care packages were assembled for military service members who are being treated at Walter Reed. These care packages contain a variety of items (such as snacks and reading materials) designed to make these soldiers’ stay at Walter Reed more comfortable. The Project took a bit longer than expected to completebut all care packages were assembled by about 8:00 pm on Saturday. Thanks to Preston Marquis, RC Hartman, and George Homewood for their leadership on this project! Saturday night, a Patch Auction was held to help raise money to pay for expenses associated with the Conclave Service Project. A total of $3,174.00 was raised that night! Thanks to J.D. Broughman and Doc Miller for coordinating the auction, and thanks to everyone who donated patches and bid!
