SR-7A to Partner with Walter Reed Medical Center
For the 2014 Conclave Service Project, SR-7A has partnered with the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center located in Bethesda, MD. Walter Reed is considered the U.S. military’s premier hospital for casualty and beneficiary care and is the largest military medical center in the United States. Walter Reed is the first destination in the continental United States for caring for the wounded, ill and injured from global conflicts.
During Conclave weekend, Arrowmen will have the opportunity to assemble care packages for military service members who are being treated at Walter Reed. A total of 6,000 care packages, which will include a variety of items (like snacks and reading materials) designed to make these soldiers’ stay at Walter Reed more comfortable, will be assembled during Conclave. The list of items to be included in these care packages was developed in close consultation with Walter Reed’s Warrior Family Coordination Cell who serves as the central coordinating point for all non-medical support of the wounded, ill and injured and ensure these soldiers receive the highest possible quality of services.
